Creating offline bots for Battlefield 3 was not a simple matter of editing configuration files; it was a herculean feat of reverse engineering. The primary obstacle was the Frostbite 2 engine itself. Unlike the highly modifiable Refractor engine of Battlefield 2 , Frostbite 2 was notoriously closed-off.
