Instead, the front page is a mosaic of imperial decrees, foreign dignitary arrivals, and agricultural productivity reports. A headline from Hedar 1932 E.C. (November 1939 G.C.) reads: “His Imperial Majesty Announces New School Construction in Gojjam.” Below it, a terse editorial praises the Emperor’s wisdom.
