His career is generally divided into his early synth-heavy years and his later, world-fusion orchestral era.
In the 2010s, Yanni achieved a synthesis of his past styles. He returned to the electronic roots of the 1980s but applied the production techniques and orchestral knowledge of the 1990s.
A radical departure. Yanni Voices features four young singers (Nathan Pacheco, Chloe, etc.) singing lyrics to melodies from his older instrumentals. "Orchid" (from If I Could Tell You ) becomes a vocal duet. This album divided purists but introduced Yanni to the Pop/Adult Contemporary charts (Peak #5 on US New Age).
