You cannot tell their social status by their handbag. You cannot tell their fitness level as easily when they aren't wearing compression gear.
More insidiously, clothing conditions us to view nudity as inherently vulnerable or sexual. Consequently, seeing an unadorned body—especially one that doesn't fit the narrow beauty standard—can trigger discomfort. That discomfort, however, is cultural, not natural.
