Released in 1987, Workbench 1.3 is often considered the definitive version of the "classic" Amiga operating system. It accompanied the height of the Amiga 500's popularity. Unlike modern operating systems that reside on massive hard drives, Workbench 1.3 was designed to run from a single 880KB double-density floppy disk.
